About Jill

(Sondra) Jill Ley received her BS in Nursing from Indiana University in 1981 and her MSN in 1987 from The Department of Physiological Nursing, University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she now teaches graduate students as a Clinical Professor, volunteer status. Jill worked at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) for most of her career as a CNS for Cardiac Surgery, then Perioperative. She is a frequent speaker at The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) National Teaching Institute and has presented her work at several international cardiothoracic meetings.  She is a Senior Editor for CTSNet where she coordinates Allied Health education.  Jill has authored over 50 publications relevant to cardiac surgical topics. Her work since 2009 has focused on CSR, making evidence-based resources available to centers for local training. Jill is a subject matter expert on resuscitation after cardiac surgery, has trained over a thousand providers nationwide in CSR skills and program implementation, and is a prolific author of CSR publications. Jill was inducted as a Fellow, American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) in 2014 for her lifetime contributions to nursing.
